FLHOP - Bridge Loans to the First Time Homebuyers Tax Credit Program
Below is the link to the application for first time homebuyers to fill out to apply for the Florida Homebuyer Opportunity Program (FLHOP) in Lee County. This program is designed to provide subordinate down payment/closing cost assistance loans to first time homebuyers for the purchase of owner occupied primary residences that can be repaid by the income tax refund the homeowner is entitled to under the IRS First Time Homebuyer Credit, FHOP monies for Lee County are being administered by the Lee County Housing Development Corporation.
Eligible Activities: The maximum FLHOP award is based on the principal balance of the loans provided but shall not exceed 10% of the purchase price of $8,000, whichever is less. FLHOP applicants must be: 1) eligible to receive the federal first-time homebuyer tax credit created through the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act and 2) qualified to receive funds under the rules of SHIP program.
